It's Amazing That Conservatives Will Pay This Woman?
From the ever crazy Ann Coulter comes another pearl of Wingnut wisdom. Frothing over this morning's announcement that George W. Bush has asked Harriet Meiers to withdraw from the nomination to replace Sandra Day O'Connor on the Supreme Court, Ann once again displays her insanity with this:
"But without a conservative theory of constitutional interpretation, Miers will lay the groundwork for a million more Roes. We're told she has terrific "common sense." Common sense is the last thing you want in a judge! The maxim "Hard cases make bad law" could be expanded to "Hard cases being decided by judges with 'common sense' make unfathomably bad law."
It was "common sense" to allow married couples to buy contraception in Connecticut. That was a decision any randomly selected group of nine good bowlers might well have concurred with on the grounds that, "Well, it's just common sense, isn't it?"
But when the Supreme Court used common sense–rather than the text of the Constitution–to strike down Connecticut's law banning contraception, it opened the door to the Supreme Court’s rewriting all manner of state laws By creating a nonspecific "right to privacy," Griswold v. Connecticut led like night into day to the famed "constitutional right" to stick a fork in a baby's head. "
Now, why is it ok for skanky, coke addled, conservative trollops to buy birth control and not for married couples? Why is it ok that Ann Coulter have a right to privacy and not a legally married couple? Griswold is a solid ruling. I am for Roe Vs. Wade in principal, but it was decided using the right to privacy, which left it open to attack from the right. It should have been decided by the right of woman to do with her body as she wishes. If she decides not to carry a child, then so be it. If she decides to fuck around, then she has the right to do that. What we need is to pass a law that will protect the right to choose, because it is a woman's right to choose. In this day and age, it is not ok for men to be using women as fuck dolls and machines for pumping out babies to further the master race. But judging by the number of white men we have running "Women's" organizations, that's what these folks want.
Ann Coulter doesn't believe a fucking thing that she says. She is just like 90% of the conservatives out there, they love to get a rise out of people. They love to throw bombs and then scream that we have no sense of humor. Problem being, there are a lot of folks that take them seriously. That is what is wrong with this country.
