Breaking The Law?!!!

Leave it to the Republican run Sinclair Broadcasting Group
to just brazenly ignore the major tenent of their broadcast
licenses, to work in the public interest. Sinclair Management
has told their stations that they will broadcast a clearly Anti-Kerry film,
produced by Rep shill, Carlton Sherwood. He has produced documentaries
attacking the investigation of Reverand Moon, our famous cult minister
and conservative money-bags. Now he is producing a doc, "Stolen Honor," that is clearly
a hour long political attack ad, in cahoots with the same folks who
brought you the "Swift Boat Vets for Truth" and a new 527 POWs for Truth.
(They have now merged, to appear evermore truthful.) These folks have
been soundly discredited and are still allowed to air their lies on TV.
So, along comes Sinclair offering to broadcast this pack of lies on their
62 stations, many which are based in "Battleground States." Then to
add further insult, this documentary will be broadcast right before the
election. This is not on cable, but on our publicly owned airwaves.
Were this cable, there would not be much of a legal argument, but
a ethical one. Since cable resides in the area of what is called "invited
guest," there is much more leeway in what can be aired, but libel could
be sued for. Not that the Kerry campaign had the time, but someone
should take this up for the cause of democracy.
How is it that these fools, along with their partners in crime Clear Channel,
are able to keep their licenses? Well, the Rep controlled FCC.
Totally ignoring any and all responsibility that they have to
at least appear non-biased. Well, the Reagan years did do away
with the equal-time clause that broadcasters operated
under for decades. Anyway, we need to protest this and here are the
contacts:

Is this breaking the law? You decide.
The airwaves belong to you. This is a bi-partisan issue. Remember, you can't
complain if this happens to your favorite candidate, if you let this happen
now. After watching the debates, I can't see how you would want to see
Bush re-elected anyhow.
