Republicans And Their So Called Culture Of Life.
These folks have no dignity at all. Just when you thought that the Republican Majority in congress had pulled the most agregious dupe, the bankcruptcy bill, they succeeded in outdoing themselves this weekend. Losing ground in the Social Security debate and Tom Delay's ongoing ethics problems that are sure to doom him, they decided to pull a stunt so damned cynical that I think they have even surprised even their most ardent supporters.
On Friday, Tennessee Senator Bill Frist, decides that in order to score points with the ever wacky Christian Right they need to step into the on going right to die battle of Michael Schiavo and his wife who has for all intents and purposes brain dead. Using a rule that prevents any person from obstructing another from appearing before congress, they actually subpoenaed the comatose patient to appear before congress. This ghoulish and cynical political play is so disgusting I can't even believe that any right minded person would deign it civil to employ it, but it is the current Republican Congress and Bush Administration that we are talking about, so why am I surprised.
This ought to backfire on the Republicans and the Bush Administration. Judging by the current polling on this issue, it is clear that the Republican majority are out of touch. This is just plain sick and I hope this little foray into insanity sinks the conservative ship.
BTW, check out the article about Georgie's swift return to the White House to sign the Terri Bill. Good god he looks every bit like the little piss ant he is. You know, Reagan, Nixon, and George H.W. Bush, pissed me off, but I still had some respect for them. I have no respect for W. and the other army of pea pants conservatives that worship at the vomitorium of Big Business. I even hate them. That is pretty strong for me. I am a pretty mellow guy. Really!!! I have lost and all respect for this administration, congress, and all the stupid fucking Americans who voted this apostasy in. I have not given up, but this time there is no turning back. Time to Fight harder. We must pull back the curtain and expose this travesty for what it is.
