The Spectacle of The Trainwreck: Paris Hilton Is So Not Hot.
You know, as a resident of New York, I am sick and tired of reading about the embodiment of the idle rich, Paris Hilton. Her dimwitted smirk has been plastered all over the local press since god knows when. Why is it that we choose to elevate dumbasses who whore their way into our lives, while mocking us behind our backs? Why would you buy the shit that this retarded HO is selling? Oh, she idolizes Puff Daddy, oops I mean P Diddy, I mean Sean Combs, and is modelling her business plan on his? Perfect, model yourself after another user. Stepping on people's backs to get to the fame that you are not entitled to. Porn Star Jenna Jameson is at least honest that she made her fame on her back, her own back, and is a hell of a lot more articulate than Paris. Our culture has become so enamored with the spectacle of the trainwreck waiting to happen that we have lost any sense of what truly stands for talent. In a not so distant time, we actually lauded people for hard won talent, genuine intellect, and hard work. Now we elect a president who god knows how, barely graduated from Yale, and it was not that hard to get a "Gentleman's C" in those days. We spend gobs of time watching the brutality of American Idol and the other rash, and I mean rash, of reality shows. We listen to the most mind numbing rehash or rehashes of ripoffs of music. The shitty hip hop that the music labels is shoving down our throats is so maddeningly retarded that I cannot believe that any African-American can take rubes like 50 Cent seriously. Absolutely humorlous.
What's actually more maddening is that The New York Times actually wasted the ink and lots of it on Paris Hilton and her "business empire."
Now, I am not a snob. I can appreciate a little trainwreck from time to time, but come on, it is over, move on, there is nothing to see here.
