Salon: Squeezing out local produce

Not to long ago, Wal-Mart announced that they were going to start to sell organic produce. Some folks said, it's about time. Most of us who have been keeping a watchful eye on this corporate shark, dropped our heads in sorrow. Well, it looks like the war that is beginning to rage between Whole Foods, the largest retailer of organic food in the US, and Wal-Mart is starting to have an effect on the local organic farmer. This nascent war and stricter border restrictions is damaging the ability of the local organic farmers to have their crops harvested. But the irony of this is that those anti-immigrant folks don't have their asses or their childrens asses out picking these crops. They are complaining about the lack of jobs for "white" people, but they are too good for these manual labor jobs. So, for now, the crops go unpicked and rotting on the vine.
