Yes, it has been a long time.

Working, working, working on getting a job.
I will be back to posting regularly in the near future.
Once I get a job, I am out from under the cloud
of uncertainty. Then I will be free to regale you with
more day to day complaints. Looking forward to it.

I'm back, well, kind of.

Hey, all of my loyal readers out there. All three of you. I am back.
Will try to post more often than not and keep you informed
and rant. Well, probably babble more like it. It's been a busy year.
My wife and I now have a wonderful baby girl, Ida. Exhausted.
Happy. Confused. Awed. It is really indescribable. Really.
More on this later, but hellooooooooooo...

This American Life

If you have not had a chance, or don't have cable, you must, and I mean must run to your friends, relatives, or download from iTunes, This American Life: The TV show. It every bit as good as the radio show. Really!!! I have been listening to TAL pretty much since its beginning. It is all about a good story. Each week they present a theme and different stories around the theme. It is funny, sad, poignant, and totally engaging. If you have not been there, go there. NOW!!!
Here is a little teaser from the TV show on their MySpace page.

Salon: Squeezing out local produce

Not to long ago, Wal-Mart announced that they were going to start to sell organic produce. Some folks said, it's about time. Most of us who have been keeping a watchful eye on this corporate shark, dropped our heads in sorrow. Well, it looks like the war that is beginning to rage between Whole Foods, the largest retailer of organic food in the US, and Wal-Mart is starting to have an effect on the local organic farmer. This nascent war and stricter border restrictions is damaging the ability of the local organic farmers to have their crops harvested. But the irony of this is that those anti-immigrant folks don't have their asses or their childrens asses out picking these crops. They are complaining about the lack of jobs for "white" people, but they are too good for these manual labor jobs. So, for now, the crops go unpicked and rotting on the vine.
What can you do about this? Support your local farmer. Patronize your local farmers market. Encourage your local restaurant to use local produce and if they don't, take your business elsewhere. Arm yourself by reading this article. It is enlightening and sure as hell should get you to put your money where your mouth is. Click here to read the full article.
You may have to sit through a short internet advert, but then you get a whole days access to the excellent Salon.com.

Call me crazy, but did Bush just fast track a order of bombs to Israel?

You know some dumb fuckers just don't learn. How many times have these folks burned their hands on the fire? Many times I imagine, but still stick it back in. I wish I could just sit back and sigh, but this is suicide.
I used to pity these folks, now I am just fucking mad.
